Coastscape photo comp smashing!
Almost 50 keen photographers of all ages entered this year's Raine & Horne Coastscape photo competition held as part of the Artfest.
The Milton office windows were filled with magnificent photos showing off our local coastline and coastal activities, with shots by Annie Roberts and Lulu Harvey taking out the public vote.
Annie won the open category with her late afternoon photo of a surfing family heading into the waves at Racecourse Beach in Ulladulla.
Lulu Harvey, 12, took out the junior category with a very creative photo of a wave lapping against rock 'fingers' at Bawley Point.
Entries were received by professional and amateur photographers alike, and really captured the essence of life on the coast, when it was through a telephoto lense or with a phone.
Following form the success of last year's Rural Photo Book, we'll once gain be publishing a photo book featuring a selection of images from the competition. Last year's funds went to the Milton Library and, this year, we have decided to donated all proceeds from book sales to the Milton Cancer Outpatients Appeal to help purchase and transport three new chemotherapy chairs to the local clinic.
I'd like to give a huge shoutout to everyone that entered and made the competition such a huge success. People loved seeing all the photos and commenting on the different angles and creativity of our local snappers. Even the mayor Amanda Findley popped in for a peek and was very impressed!
