Community remains strong for those that have lost everything
I love all of the great stories that have eventuated from such a terrible disaster.
Whilst we have all heard and some have experienced first hand the horrific outcome of the recent fires that devastated our local community it gives me such faith in human kind and how a community can bond and band together to create something so positive out of this adversity.
When I heard David Ford had lost his entire collection of 300 surfboards from the 60s, 70s, 80, I was happy to contribute my vintage board to help rebuild his collection
David was lucky to have his home but truely devastated to have lost a remarkably large chunk of history when the bushfires hit Conjola.
Surfboard collectors throughout Australia, donated their prized possessions everywhere from the Gold Coast down to Milton.
There have been similar stories of people donating musical instruments, push bikes and books to collectors and children who lost everything.
We are fortunate to live in such a close, caring and generous community.
